1. DJ Adamus, you are very well-known DJ. Your career is global. You compose music, create remixes with many popular bands. For several years, you have proved your worth even as a music producer. Tell us about the beginning of your adventure with music.

I’ve been involved in the world of music for many years. I started working on the radio (Radio Prokolor, Radio Park and Radio Plus). Three years later, in 1996, I played in the 3K band  then recorded the EneDue record. That’s how it started. There was Opole, prizes, awards and among other the  GRAND PRIX at the  Antenna Poland Le Printemps de Bourges festival and a concert tour of France. A lot has happened. Later, I pretty much focused on the Polish club scene. All in all, I was able to co-create nearly 50 different records encompassing club music and hip hop. Many great songs have been created through hard work, commitment and ambitious people as well as cooperation of bands and singers.
2. Please name a few of the most interesting pieces of production in which you have participated. Who was it for and who created the music?
I was lucky that I could and still cooperate with many well-known figures from the world of music and show business. Thanks to the extremely successful relationship several projects were able to be extended. It was created with really good material. The result is large audiences, awards and I don’t conceal international recognition. I have produced remixes for bands like MYSLOVITZ, MAANAM, KASA as well as CONTRA, FUTRO,  PAPRIKA CORPS and WSZYSTKIE WSCHODY SŁOŃCA. I have worked with many Polish musicians, among others with Michal Urbaniak. I have played with the best DJs of the world like CARL COX, TIMO MAAS, ARTFUL DODGER, EDDIE AMADOR, CHUS & CEBALLOS, SASHA and many others.
3. Let us stick to the topic of musical cooperation – some are short, others take longer. Who have you worked with the longest and what led to this cooperation?
In 2006,we established Wet Fingers together with Mafia Mike. The smart idea turned out to refresh old, known and loved Polish songs. We have used samples from the Polish library record label in an innovative way and have created a new dance sound of famous songs. There are Club versions of the “Hi-Fi Superstar” song by the Wanda i Banda group, “Nu Limit”  by Kombi or a refreshed version of “Małgośka” by Maryla Rodowicz which have stormed the top of the Polish radio and television charts one after the other. They have become real hits, one of the most common and most frequently played in clubs. It was undoubtedly an amazing success. We have played many times on the big stage together with Wet Fingers. You could hear us among others on the Eska Summer Stage in Legionowo, Stokłosaliach, at the Bydgoszcz Hit Festival. We have played in front of DJ Tiësto on two occassions (in 2009 and 2010).Gorajka (288)po_cmyk

4. Your success is not only the creation of popular songs and performances on stage. It is also awards.

The hit single “Hi-Fi Superstar” received two nominations for the Eska Music Awards 2006, and got to the top of the charts. In 2008 and 2009 our next joint single with Wet Fingers came out.
In 2008 I also began working with the singer and composer of CANDY GIRL. Together, we recorded the single LICK IT, which undoubtedly has  been a great success. The culmination of our project was a tour in China where we performed in about 50 concerts.
After returning, we recorded ESAMBA 2010 along with Wet Fingers . The single became a hit and finished in 11th place in the ranking of the best-selling pieces of BEATPORT, the biggest portal of club music.
5. Which project are you particularly proud of?
We were able to take part in a very interesting project which was to co-create the soundtrack for the Polish film “Sala Samobójców” (Suicide Room). There was a lot of publicity around us due to the “Turn me on” song, which promoted the movie. Another film in which you can listen to our music was “Big Love” and the song is “Love Step Dub”. A real challenge, in which I had the opportunity to participate and create a musical setting was at a final gala of Fryderyki 2013.
6. Tell us about your cooperation with Ada Szulc.
Ada was a breath of fresh air on the music market. After 2013 she appeared in the first edition of X-Factor and has become recognized throughout the country. Seeing so much potential in this young person after the programme, we decided to work together. Ada has amazing vocals and a head full of ideas from which a lot of cool texts have flowed. I make music. At the beginning we planned one project, but co-operation has become so great that we created the album “1000 miejsc” from joint materials.
7. What kind of music do you present with Ada on the album “1000 miejsc”? And how did the idea for such an intriguing album title and song title come about?
“1000 places to see before you die” is a famous sentence and a reference to the emotional states associated with the interpretation of this sentence. The music we propose together with Ada is maintained in a lounge atmosphere. We have embroidered it with modern sounds of electro and acoustic instruments. There are balances between varieties such as chill-out, trip hop or deep house dance rhythms. You cannot only feel “1000 miejsc” but you can also see the video clip, which perfectly reflects the style of music, taste and maturity of the singer. I would add that music videos were recorded in Cuba, Japan (Tokyo) and even in Iceland. The premiere of the title single “1000 miejsc” was held on May 9, 2013. A further “Dokąd Słuchać” could be heard from July 2013.
8. Adam, I conclude that you do a lot of travelling. As a DJ you perform worldwide. You are very recognizable. How do you deal with popularity?
Travelling is my everyday life. It is part of my profession as well as coping with popularity. This is, of course, its advantages and disadvantages. Undoubtedly, the great advantage is the opportunity to meet interesting people. In my case this often transforms into new interesting projects. I have an open mind and I can listen. This is what the world has to offer me and I can take advantage of.
9. What do you do now, where can we see you and listen to you live?
Currently, I’m concentrating on successive singles and working with music, film and advertising. My sets can be listened to at the best clubs in Warsaw and throughout the world. I take part in various cultural and entertainment events. Among other I was responsible for the musical setting ceremony of the World Cup Volleyball. I also take care of the musical setting in the “Kuba Wojewódzki” programme. Since 2014, I’ve sat on the jury of  “Twoja Twarz Brzmi Znajomo” (Your face sounds familiar). Recently I have guest starred in “Wkręceni 2”, which was a very cool experience.Gorajka (136)po_cmyk
